From as far back as i can recall i have been a responsible recorder. That is, I have taken it upon myself to document personal
areas of interest that are mostly associated with faces, places and things that I have seen and felt to be inspiring
As a youth I had an extensive collection of writing tools and grew up under the guidance of a wonderful woman who was a great
friend, mother and editor/publisher. I learned early on to live by collecting information to inspire more creativity and cherished
my first tape recorder. I would record everything that happened in, around and outside of the house and eventually moved
on from audio to video, following the footsteps of strangers around town, happenings, and finally turned the camera on myself
for a self portrait project about a girl waiting for the world to happen. While finding my way out of Buffalo NY onto the
streets of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx, I have still found it most interesting to fill my life with my ritual
of recording but more professionally. Now my life is filled with running, gunning, recording, producing, directing, editing,
archiving and documenting as much material to yes clarify the self proclaimed name "griot gurl" which is not to just tell
stories of the people but to archive them, and create an extensive library of footage and keep those stories safe to be told
through biography, documentary, and even possibly research material.
This is my first website, so it has a mixture of all the things I have been up to, Videos, Commercial Spec's, Exclusive Coverage,
Photography, Writings and even my most recent public project " T-Swap".
I am working on various solo projects as well as a few colaborations with other influential artists both iconic and on the
move.
